Our aim is to make it easier for students to visualise the cell and its processes by allowing them to physically manipulate the cell and its organelles. This interactive 3D model is designed to address these issues by allowing students to zoom in and out of the cell, understand what can and can’t be seen at different levels of magnification and how the organelles create the cell’s structure. Many misconceptions surrounding cells and cell structure are focused on issues of scale and content. This toolkit is designed to help students understand just how tiny but complex cells are and how important understanding cells is to biology as a whole. However, we often forget that conceptualising something too small for the naked eye to see requires a cognitive leap. This product includes an opportunity for students to take Cornell style notes and has a built in reviews. The structure of eukaryotic cells is one of the first concepts taught in many current specifications and it’s easy to think this might be simple for students to understand.
Filled with diagrams and pictures to enhance learning these editable power points are great for note taking skills for students of any level including English Learners, EL, as well as more advanced students. Also included is a review of the cell theory, the cell membrane, and cell organelles. This presentation covers diffusion, passive transport, osmosis, active transport, endocytosis, and exocytosis. The third presentation contains 16 slides covering the transport of materials across a cell membrane. This is good foundational information for a cell unit. Also included is a review of the cell theory and the cell membrane. The second presentation contains 19 slides covering the cell organelles including the nucleus, nucleolus, chromatin, mitochondria, plastids, ER, ribosomes, etc.
This is a good introduction to a cell unit. The first presentation contains 14 slides covering the history of cell discovery, cell theory, prokaryotes, eukaryotes, and the cell membrane.
This product contains 3 power point presentations that cover the Cell Structure and Function.
